Dadnose
A "dad" brand with a unique product. We created a brand, packaging, and e-commerce site.
For dads, from a dad
A friend came to me with an unusual business idea: a scented clown nose to wear while changing diapers. My first thought was, “This is crazy—I hope he abandons this before going too far down the rabbit hole.” But I quickly realized how brilliant it was. Working in healthcare, he was familiar with unpleasant smells but found dirty diapers particularly offensive. He created a prototype for his personal use—something entertaining for his kid to look at during diaper changes while masking the unpleasant odor.
He decided to produce more, package them, and sell them as the “Dadnose” (which he trademarked). It serves as both a silly shower gift for new fathers and a practical product that dads can subscribe to, sparing them from ever smelling “you know what” again.
The project needed it all: branding, packaging, and an e-commerce site. The branding came together pretty quickly. Dadnose had a clear target audience—dads—an audience that has clear coding for brand and marketing. We embraced the expected aesthetic, creating a simple logo: A mustache sitting under a “Dadnose.”
He wanted to sell them in packs of three and asked if we could make it look like golf ball packaging. He knows his audience, and the packaging resonated.
This was an unusual project, but that made it especially enjoyable. I love developing brands that connect with their audience and sell products that people enjoy, and it was particularly rewarding to help a friend in the process.
